Carolina Girl was written for my mother. It's an entirely true story. She came from a large family living in New Bern, North Carolina in the wake of the Great Depression. The kids were invited to Sunday school by a minister from The Salvation Army, and my mother and several of her siblings found love and acceptance and even a life calling there.

This is my tribute to her, to be released the day before her birthday. I love you, Mom.

Special thanks to my siblings, Suzanne, Tim and Kristin, who helped make the recording possible, and to Jason Hoard who brought it to life.
